QPR owner Tony Fernandes insists the club must move from Loftus Road in order to develop and become a force in the Premier League. The current ground holds 18,439 seats, the lowest capacity in the top flight. The club is now hoping to relocate to a new 40,000-seater arena just three miles away from the old stadium.
"We need to move if we are to sustain a top-flight club," Fernandes said. "Old Oak Common is the only realistic place for us to move. It is close to our fans and our roots, with great transport links." Car dealership Cargiant, which owns 47 acres of that land, might not agree though as it has its own plans for redevelopment. The area has also generated interest for a new Crossrail and HS2 'superstation' hub.
Cargiant and QPR plan to create 24,000 homes on what the club describe as a "patch of unsightly and under-used land". QPR conducted research among their fans and they say 88% are supporting Old Oak as the location for the club's new stadium. "We are delighted that so many of our fans and members of the local community share our vision for the future of both QPR and Old Oak," Fernandes added. "This is only the first stage of consultation and we will continue to work with the community as we develop our plans in more detail."
QPR are currently 11/10 at Bet365 to get relegated from the Premier League this season.

I think that 18000 seats is small for premier league and they should or move to new stadium but also I agree with timidi and I also think that in this moment they have a lot of other things to fix. QPR is on the last place in premier league and I don't see how that could change. They have good squad (better than a lot of...

To be honest I think that QPR will never be "top-flight" club in premier league. Becouse this is league with a lot of big clubs and I just can't see QPR in same position like everton or tottenham and I won't even mention Arsenal, Chelsea or Man city or United. So I think that for QPR is better to try avoid relegation this...
