Former Manchester United and Everton manager David Moyes has been named as the new head coach of Spanish top-flight club Real Sociedad. The 51-year-old manager was without a job since he was sacked as United manager in April after just 10 months in charge. Moyes replaces Jagoba Arrasate, who was fired by Sociedad after a poor run of form which led the team to 15th place in the Primera Liga table.
Moyes has signed a contract until June 2016 and will take charge for the first time when Sociedad face Deportivo away from home on 22 November. The club announced the appointment on Monday in a statement on their official website: "Real Sociedad have reached an agreement with David Moyes. Details about the official presentation of Real Sociedad's new coach and who will form part of his technical team will be published tomorrow morning."
Moyes recently said in a BBC interview that he was waiting for the right offer did not rule out a job in Europe. "It is something that we don't report enough - British managers outside the shores," he said. "It will actually help the development of coaches where you can come back and give a bit back to them - tell them the experience you have had working in Spain, Italy, Germany or wherever it may be."
Real Sociedad are 14/1 at Bet365 to get relegated from the Primera Liga this season.

Despite failure in Manchester United, I am a David Moyeses fan and think that he has qualities to be a successful manager in England, Spain or any other place. He didn't have enough time at Man U to show what he is capable of. I don't think United is a much better team this season despite the "great" manager that they...

After bad work at Manchester United, David Moyes has got another work opportunity to prove that he is solid football coach, but not for big club's like Manchester United. He will show his potential whit mid-range club like Sociedad, like what we see him doing with Everton.

I was reading about this contract and I think that David Moyes is manager with the biggest salary in Real Sociedad history. And now I ask myself who give that kind of money to manager who failed with manchester united and manchester have better team. I can't wait to see David Moyes again in action becouse I am confused. In everton he did great job, he had full support of board and he did a lot of great things for everton. In munchester we have completely opposite situatin. He is under pressure, everybody had big expectations and he couldn't handle that. So in Real sociedad...

david Moyes.. That guy really had no credit in Manchester United, he was under pressure with so little expirience with coaching in big club like MU. I think Sociedad is going to suit him more, simply because he have expirience with 'smaller' clubs like Everton. Anyway, wish him a good luck for sure. GL moyes.

I don't believe that Moyes is bad manager despite that he hadn't good season at United. Now we can see that Van Ghaal also has a problesms with that team, and I am convinced that Moyes could make a good result in Real. For me david moyes is great manager. Just look at his career in Everton and you will see how great is he. In M. United they wasn't patient with him and they fired him but I am sure that he could do some great stuff with united. But now he has new challenge in spain and I hope that he will safe Real Sociedad from relegation.

Poor Real Sociedad. They aren't in their real form they sould be between in the top 6 truly. In their last match they beated Atletico Madrid 2 to 1. Aggiretxe is a very big talend I should watch him in Juventus. Carlos Vela got a very high hope when he was at Barcelona. But he can do his full skill at a worst team. I hope...

Real Sociedad is in really bad situation, they are on 15th position with only 9 points. I think Mojes will manage better here than at Manchester United. Next match they play against Deportivo La Coruna, i hope they will win and wish them all the best.
