Back UEFA Europa League: Everton vs Lille preview

Everton have the chance to almost seal their passage to the knockout stage of the Europa League on Thursday evening when they host French side Lille at Goodison Park. The Toffees are currently leading the Group H rankings by one point and are unbeaten in the first three matches of the competition: two wins and a draw.

The reverse fixture two weeks ago ended goalless in France. Lille are two points behind Everton in the group table, also undefeated but with three consecutive draws. Lille are struggling in their domestic competition though, they haven't won any of their last six matches. A win on Thursday would boost their chances of qualifying.

Arouna Kone, John Stones, Kevin Mirallas and Antolin Alcaraz will all miss out for Everton, while Marcos Lopes and Jonathan Delaplace are out of contention for Lille.

Probable starting line-ups:

Everton: Howard - Baines, Jagielka, Distin, Coleman - Barry, Besic, McGeady, Naismith - Lukaku, Eto'o

Lille: Enyeama - Corchia, Kjaer, Basa, Souare - Origi, Martin, Gueye, Rodelin - Mavuba, Frey

My prediction: Everton to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Everton win - 4/5 Draw - 11/4 Lille win - 4/1
