Back UEFA Europa League: Asteras Tripolis vs Tottenham preview

Tottenham Hotspur have a chance to bounce back to winning ways when they travel to Greece to meet Asteras Tripolis in the Europa League on Thursday evening. Victory will put them in a strong position in Group C and boost their hopes of reaching the last 32. Spurs are currently second in the group, tied with leaders Besiktas on five points with three games left.

Last time out Tottenham went past Asteras with easy, they won 5-1 at White Hart Lane with Harry Kane bagging a hat-trick. However, the Greek side have done a decent job in the group so far, grabbing four points so far. That said, a win for Asteras on Thursday would dramatically change the balance of power in the group.

Harry Kane will probably be handed a starting place instead of Adebayor or Soldado while Kyle Naughton and Nabil Bentaleb are in doubt due to injuries. Ederson Tormena, Ritchie Kitoko and Dimitris Kourbelis are all expected to miss out for the home side.

Probable starting line-ups:

Asteras: Kosicky - Lluy, Zisopoulos, Sankare, Panteliadis - Mazza, Usero, Munafo, Rolle - Tsokanis, Parra

Spurs: Lloris - Naughton, Fazio, Vertonghen, Davies - Capoue, Dembele, Lamela, Townsend - Kane, Adebayor

My prediction: Tottenham to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Asteras win - 15/4 Draw - 14/5 Tottenham win - 4/5
