Back Premier League: Chelsea vs Queens Park Rangers preview

Queens Park Rangers will travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday without suspended Rio Ferdinand, who has been handed a three-match ban by the FA for comments that he made on social media. However, last time out QPR won even without Ferdinand, 2-0 at Aston Villa on Monday. Those three points lifted the Rangers off the bottom of the table but they will face a daunting task on Saturday against the Premier League leaders after failing to pick up any points on the road so far this season.

QPR were heavily defeated both at Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, so apparently they will face an uphill struggle to keep a clean sheet against the Blues, who could welcome back top scorer Diego Costa. The Spaniard missed Chelsea's last four games but while he was away Didier Drogba has scored both at Manchester United last week and in the Capital One Cup against Shrewsbury in midweek.

Cesar Azpilicueta will be out for the Blues as he serves the final game of his own three-match ban. Jose Mourinho will also have to do without Ramires and Loic Remy, both injured. Joey Barton, Jordan Mutch and Alejandro Faurlin are still injured for QPR while Nedum Onuoha and Alex McCarthy will have to pass late fitness tests. It's worth pointing out that the last meeting between these two sides at Stamford Bridge was surprisingly won by QPR. However, they have failed to score in six of their last seven away matches in the league while Chelsea have kept 10 clean sheets in their last 12 home matches.

Probable starting line-ups:

Chelsea: Courtois - Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Luis - Matic, Fabregas - Hazard, Oscar, Willian - Costa

QPR: Green - Isla, Dunne, Caulker, Yun - Fer, Sandro, Henry - Vargas, Hoilett, Austin

My prediction: Chelsea to win 2-0.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Chelsea win - 1/6 Draw - 15/2 QPR win - 20/1
