Back Premier League: Southampton vs Stoke City preview

Southampton will be looking to add more excitement for their fans when they host Stoke City at St Mary's Stadium on Saturday. Last weekend the Saints recorded their biggest ever Premier League victory they battered Sunderland 8-0 to continue their impressive start to the season. And it was a great start that was quite unlikely after the club sold most of their star players last summer. Under new manager Ronald Koeman Southampton are currently third in the Premier League table.

Stoke City also won last weekend, 2-1 against Swansea City. The Potters have doubts over Victor Moses' fitness ahead of Saturday's match, while Glenn Whelan will surely miss out after being diagnosed with a broken leg. Peter Odemwingie, Robert Huth and Marko Arnautovic are also sidelined.

Koeman will most likely keep the same starting eleven which defeated the Black Cats last weeks, with summer signings Graziano Pelle and Dusan Tadic in attack. Pelle has scored 7 goals in 10 games so far while Tadic provided four assists and a goal last weekend. It's interesting to note that all four previous Premier League matches between these two teams ended in draws.

Probable starting line-ups:

Southampton: Forster - Clyne, Alderweireld, Fonte, Bertrand - Cork, Wanyama, Davis - Tadic, Long, Pelle

Stoke: Begovic - Bardsley, Wilson, Shawcross, Pieters - Cameron, N'Zonzi, Walters, Adam, Diouf - Crouch

My prediction: Southampton to win 2-0.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Southampton win - 13/20 Draw - 3/1 Stoke win - 5/1
