Back UEFA Europa League: Tottenham vs Besiktas match preview

Tottenham can boost their Europa League campaign if they win at White Hart Lane on Thursday against Besiktas. The opening Group C match ended in a 1-1 draw for the Spurs in Belgrade where they faced Partizan. Besiktas also grabbed a single point out of the opening match, against Greek side Asteras Tripolis.

Besiktas are doing pretty well in the domestic league so far, with eight points out of a possible twelve. They are currently second in the Super Lig table. Tottenham are not doing so well on the domestic front, they are eighth in the Premier League table after an unconvincing start to the season.

There are no fresh injury concerns for Tottenham but manager Mauricio Pochettino could decide to rest some of the players that featured in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Arsenal. Mustafa Pektemek is in doubt for Besiktas, who will most likely rely on former Chelsea striker Demba Ba for goals.

Probable starting line-ups:

Tottenham: Lloris - Naughton, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Rose - Bentaleb, Mason - Lennon, Eriksen, Townsend - Adebayor

Besiktas: Zengin - Kurtulus, Sivok, Koybasi, Franco - Hutchinson, Kavlak, Sahan, Tore - Ozyakup, Ba

My prediction: Tottenham to win 2-1.

Here are the odds for the match at Bet365:

Tottenham win - 4/6 Draw - 14/5 Besiktas win - 5/1
