Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward says Manchester United are ready to achieve "something special". Woodward was speaking to investors after the club announced record annual revenues, up by 19% to 433.2 million pounds. However, profits fell by a staggering 84%. "The 2013-14 season was challenging and disappointing," he said. "But we are excited to have one of world's best managers, there is a real feeling we are at the start of something special."
Woodward also revealed the club had built their budget previsioning a third-place finish in the Premier League. The fall in profits was mostly due to United's owners cashing in a tax credit in the previous financial year. Woodward focused on the revenue rise and commercial income that has also gone up by 24.1% following confirmation of a new shirt manufacturing deal with Adidas .
The club have made a £150m investment in six new players this summer, including Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao. There will most likely be some new signings in January as well, with AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman believed to be on manager Louis van Gaal's shortlist if he recovers from a serious knee surgery.
Manchester United face QPR at Old Trafford on Sunday and they are 1/4 at Bet365 to win that match, that would be their first Premier League victory of the season.

I can see that Manchester have some interesting numbers, and we all know that United is one of the richest club on the world but this and last season are proof that it is not all about money. And my first and last example will be southampton. They sold a lot of players in Manchester and Liverpool and after 10 games they are infront that teams on second spot of the league.

@snoop funny that you mention QPR .. becouse we all know how their last season in premier league end.. and they had a lot of money and great players, so I think that money is important but not crucial. I think that united won't qualify for champions league... They don't have play style... And a please don't make me start...

I agree with snoop. Manchester is rich club, with great organization inside and with great playere and manager now. But few days ago, I read somewhere that they want to sell Mata. Why!? On this position, Mata is one of the best players. He is the most unerrated player now on the world.
