Premier League: Manchester United sign Radamel Falcao on loan
Manchester United have signed Colombia striker Radamel Falcao in a season-long loan deal from Ligue 1 side Monaco, the Red Devils had to pay 6 million pounds. Falcao had joined Monaco in May 2013 for 50 million pounds and Real Madrid also seemed keen to sign him this summer. He has scored 11 goals in 20 league appearances for Monaco, and already bagged two in three games this season. Falcao was United's second deadline-day signing after the £13.8m deal regarding Daley Blind from Ajax. The Dutchman, aged 24, signed a four-year deal with the Red Devils. As for Falcao, Manchester United can buy him for 43.5 million pounds at the end of the loan deal. Falcao said: "Manchester United is the biggest club in the world and is clearly determined to get back to the top. I am looking forward to working with Louis van Gaal and contributing to the team's success at this very exciting period in the club's history." United manager Louis Van Gaal said: "When a player of this calibre becomes available, it is an opportunity not to be missed." United have sold Danny Welbeck and loaned out Javier Hernandez while midfielder Shinji Kagawa was sold to Borussia Dortmund. Van Gaal has also signed defenders Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo, midfielder Ander Herrera, and forward Angel Di Maria since he was appointed as Man United manager. After a terrible start to the season Manchester United are 14/1 at Bet365 to win the Premier League title.
