Back Primera Liga: Real Madrid sign World Cup star goalkeeper Keylor Navas

Real Madrid have completed the signing of Costa Rica goalkeeper Keylor Navas on a six-year deal. Navas was a star between the sticks his country in Brazil this summer as Costa Rica reached the quarter-finals of the Fifa World Cup for the first time in their history. The 27-year-old goalie moves to the Santiago Bernabeu outfit from La Liga side Levante.

Reports claim Real Madrid had to pay £7.9m to Levante to activate the keeper's release clause. Navas will be presented to the club's fans at the Bernabeu on Tuesday after undergoing a medical check.

An official club statement read: "Real Madrid CF and Levante UD have reached an agreement over the transfer of Keylor Navas, who will be tied to the club for the next six seasons." Navas is the third player to join Real Madrid this summer after the signings of German World Cup winner Toni Kroos and Columbian forward James Rodriguez. Navas will compete for the number one spot at Real with Spanish keepers Iker Casillas and Diego Lopez.

Real Madrid are 5/6 at Bet365 to win the Primera Liga next season.
