Premier League: Liverpool sign Dejan Lovren
Liverpool have completed their fifth signing of the summer: Southampton defender Dejan Lovren in a deal worth 20 million pounds. The 25-year-old Croatia centre-back is the third Saints player to move to Anfield during this transfer window and he signed a four-year contract with the Reds. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers said: "This is a very important signing for us. He is a commanding and powerful presence and clearly has leadership skills, which is important - he fits the profile of player we are looking for. He is still relatively young, so his peak years are ahead of him and I believe he will improve and progress even further with us." Lovren said: "After I played at Anfield last season, I said to myself: 'One day I hope I'll be able to play here for Liverpool'." The Reds have already bought striker Rickie Lambert and midfielder Adam Lallana from Southampton this summer and with Lovren's addition they have paid the Saints £49m in transfer fees in the last three months. Luke Shaw joined Manchester United for £27m and Calum Chambers signed for Arsenal in a deal around £16m, which means Southampton have sold five players for a total of around £92m. Liverpool might also look to replace Luis Suarez with another Uruguayan player, PSG striker Edinson Cavani. Here are the odds for his transfer at SkyBet: Manchester Utd 7/4 Liverpool 3/1 Chelsea 6/1 Manchester City 6/1 Arsenal 9/1
