World Cup Group H: Belgium vs Algeria preview
Belgium open their 2014 World Cup campaign with a tricky Group H clash against Algeria on Tuesday. The Belgians were unbeatable in the qualification group, they won eight out of ten matches and finished nine points ahead of Croatia to qualify. This is their first final tournament appearance since 2002, while their best World Cup record was in 1986 when they finished fourth. Algeria have never managed to get past the World Cup group stage, although they have qualified for the finals twice since their first appearance in 1986. The Africans are in good shape now though, they have won their last three friendly matches against Slovenia, Armenia and Romania. Belgium's Romelu Lukaku is expected to be fit for the match despite an ankle injury. The starting line-ups might look as follows: Belgium: Courtois; Alderweireld, Kompany, Vermaelen, Vertonghen; Fellaini, Dembele, Witsel; Hazard, Lukaku, Mirallas Algeria: M'Bolhi; Mostefa, Bougherra, Cadamuro, Ghoulam; Taider, Medjani, Bentaleb; Soudani, Djabou, Feghouli My prediction: Belgium to win 2-0.
