Hosts Brazil will be looking to secure their passage to the knockout round with a win over Mexico on Tuesday. The home side got off to a good start to their campaign with a 3-1 victory over Croatia in the opening match of the tournament. Their success was controversial though as they were awarded a dubious penalty kick at 1-1. Mexico can also make almost sure of qualifying if they beat Brazil.
The Mexicans also started the tournament with a win, a narrow 1-0 success over Cameroon. Tradition shows Brazil are favourites, they have won 22 of their 38 previous matches against Mexico. There are no fresh injury concerns in either of the two sides.
