Back World Cup: Wayne Rooney and Phil Jones will be fit for the final tournament

Manchester United caretaker manager Ryan Giggs says Phil Jones and Wayne Rooney will both be fit to play for England at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Jones, aged 22, suffered a shoulder injury in Tuesday's match against Hull City while Wayne Rooney, aged 28, had a groin problem. England manager Roy Hodgson will name his provisional 30-man squad for the World Cup on Monday.

Giggs said about Rooney: "He is training and will be fine for the World Cup. He has just started over the last couple of days. Sunday is a little bit too quick for him." Phil Jones won't join the Manchester United squad for the last league game of the season this weekend. "The injury is not as bad as I thought," Giggs said. "He won't be fit for Sunday but he will be OK for the World Cup."

Speaking about his own future at United Giggs added: "My stance is not any different to what it was last week. Nothing has been announced yet and my job is to prepare the team for Southampton. Obviously it has been a difficult season for everyone and when the management situation gets sorted out then we can move on. That will probably be in the next couple of weeks. I have enjoyed the whole experience and it has definitely helped me prepare for what will come after my playing career."

England will play in World Cup group D alongside Uruguay, Italy and Costa Rica and are 9/4 at Bet365 to win the group.
