Tennis: Roger Federer could be back for the French Open

Roger Federer has pulled out of the Madrid Masters tournament on Tuesday after announcing that his wife Mirka had given birth to twin boys. The Swiss world number 4 wrote on Twitter: "Mirka and I are so incredibly happy to share that Leo and Lenny were born this evening! #TwinsAgain #Miracle".

Federer already has four-year-old twin girls and said he was willing to miss any tournament, even the French Open, to make sure he was at the birth. There are 19 days left until the start of the French Open at Roland Garros, so Federer could be back in action for the Grand Slam although he might miss next week's Masters tournament in Rome.

Here's what Federer had to say to his fans on Facebook: "I've decided to withdraw from Madrid to be with my wife Mirka during these next few exciting weeks for our family. I apologise to my fans and hope to be back in Madrid next year. I'll be training near my home, and am excited to rejoin the Tour soon!"

Here are the outright French Open odds at SkyBet:

Rafael Nadal - 1/1
Novak Djokovic - 15/8
Stanislas Wawrinka - 13/2
Roger Federer - 12/1
David Ferrer - 18/1

Congrats to him and his family but regarding tennis, he's not what he used to be. He has a certain age (32 if i'm not mistaking), won a lot of tourneys but.. there's a time when you must let go and start doing something else. He may still be up for strong competition but he lost the pace.. too bad.
