Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil will be out for "at least a few weeks" after suffering a hamstring injury during Tuesday's Champions League match at Bayern Munich. The 25-year-old German was substituted at half-time in Arsenal's 1-1 draw in Munich, with Bayern advancing 3-1 on aggregate.
Ozil, who signed for Arsenal from Real Madrid for a record £42.4m fee, will have a scan to determine the exact extent of the injury. Gunners manager Arsene Wenger said the German would definitely miss Sunday's derby at Tottenham in the Premier League. Arsenal are out of the Champions League, which means they have just two more chances to end their nine-year trophy drought this season. They are seven points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea and are set to face Wigan in the FA Cup semi-finals.
The Gunners have already lost midfielder Jack Wilshere to injury, he will be out for at least six weeks, so they will surely be hoping Ozil's hamstring issue is not too serious. "We have to make a scan to see how bad it is but he is out for at least a few weeks," said Wenger.
