Tennis: Andy Murray cruises through in Rotterdam
British number one Andy Murray had an easy first-round match in Rotterdam as he cruised past Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-3 6-3. Murray needed just an hour and 29 minutes to advance to the second round of the ABN Amro world tennis tournament in Rotterdam. Murray has slipped to sixth place in the world rankings after going though back surgery last year but he managed to reach the Australian Open quarter finals in January. Since then he only played in the Davis Cup, helping Great Britain win their tie against the United States. Defending Rotterdam champion Juan Martin del Potro also advanced to the second round but he had a much more difficult match against Gael Monfils, the Argentinian won 7-6 6-3. Veteran Tommy Haas needed three sets to defeat Fernando Verdasco while Frenchmen Richard Gasquet and Nicolas Mahut also pulled through. The only surprise of the day was qualifier Dominic Thiem's 6-4 4-6 6-4 win over Finland's Jarkko Nieminen. Here are the outright win odds for the Rotterdam tournament at Bet365: Andy Murray - 15/8 Juan Martin del Potro - 11/4 Tomas Berdych - 4/1 Marin Cilic - 9/1 Richard Gasquet - 11/1
