Premier League: David Moyes describes Fulham result as a new low
Manchester United manager David Moyes said dropping two points against Fulham due to conceding an injury-time equaliser was "as bad as it gets". Reigning champions Manchester United failed to win for the 13th time in 25 league games this season. The Red Devils are now nine points behind fourth-placed Liverpool in the race for a Champions League qualifying position while their title hopes are pretty much over since they are 15 points behind Chelsea with 13 games left in the season. In fact, the Red Devils had 21 more points after 25 Premier League games last season, a record that eventually led them to the title. United boss Moyes said: "It's been a bit like that this season. Sunday was as bad as it gets. We dominated." Manchester United had 75% ball possession on Sunday against Fulham and sent in no less than 81 crosses, the most in the Premier League since 2006. Fulham, the Premier League bottom side, put an end to a four-game losing streak by snatching a point at Old Trafford. Manchester United have lost 10 matches in all competitions this season, five of which at home, and won just three out of nine games in 2014. Moyes added: "There was only one winner in the game, and that was Manchester United. I don't know if we could have done an awful lot more. Maybe we could have defended a couple of times a bit better, taken a few more of the chances we made, but we completely dominated and we should have won the game." On Wednesday, United visit Arsenal, who slipped to second place in the Premier League table after Saturday's 5-1 thrashing at Liverpool.
