Premier League: Arteta reveals Wenger's fury with his players at Liverpool
Arsenal's Spanish playmaker Mikel Arteta says he had never seen Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger as angry as he was at half-time at Anfield on Saturday. The Gunners found themselves 4-0 down after just 19 minutes and ended up losing the match 5-1, the second heavy defeat of the season after a 6-3 loss to Manchester City in December. However, they reacted well after the beating at the hands of City, taking 20 points out of the next 24 available. Arteta said: "We know we need to improve and face those games in a different manner because after 19 minutes we were 4-0 down and it was like a car crash. The manager was really upset at half-time, that's normal because it wasn't good enough for this football club. It was the angriest I have seen him." As a consequence of that result Arsenal dropped to second place in the league table, one point behind new leaders Chelsea. But the Spaniard says the players have what it takes to bounce back once again and lead the club back towards the top of the table, starting with Wendesday's match against defending champions Manchester United. "We have had two big crises already," Arteta added. "I think the Manchester United defeat was a different game to this, but City and this one are really hard to take. We have to react because there is nothing we can do about this now." The bookmakers are less and less confident concerning Arsenal's title chances, their odds to win the title at Bet365 are now at 7/1, Chelsea are the new top favourites at 5/4 while Manchester City are 11/8 to clinch the Premier League crown this season.
