The Croatian Times reported on Thursday that the Croatian Ministry of Finance is preparing to impose a higher tax on lottery winners or those wagering on sports.
Few details are available at this time but it seems that punters winning 1,500 Croatian kuna will be required to pay 10% in taxes where wins exceeding 30,000 kuna were previously taxed.
The Croatian retail betting industry is successful and online punters have options provided some of the top European operators.
