Phil Ivey Sponsors Boxing Program

Poker pro Phil Ivey's latest venture is the sponsorship of a top boxing program to support his new poker training. Ivey selected the “ShoBox, The Next Generation” boxing program to sponsor. The event took place on January 17, 204 at Cook Convention Center in Memphis, Tennessee which was broadcast of national television on Showtime at 10:00 p.m. EST. Ivey is drawn to the excitement of boxing and the mental power involved. “Phil is a big fan of boxing, but more importantly he is a fan of hard work, commitment, and dedication. That's exactly what is needed when you step in the ring,” Clete McQuinn, chief operating officer at Ivey Poker, said. He added that there are plans to sponsor additional sporting events to support the Ivey League poker training site set to launch later in the month.
