Premier League: Manchester United vs Tottenham preview
Defending champions Manchester United will take on Tottenham at Old Trafford on New Year's Day, looking to extend their winning streak to seven games and climb further up the table. The Red Devils have bounced back after a slow start to the season, winning their last four Premier League matches and moving up to sixth position in the league table. Last time out Manchester United won 1-0 against Norwich, with Danny Welbeck scoring the winning goal. David Moyes will probably field the same defenders that earned him a victory over Norwich, with Evans and Vidic at the heart of the defence and Smalling and Evra on the flanks. Tom Cleverley and Michael Carrick are likely to start in the middle of the pitch while Wayne Rooney is expected to return after missing the last match with a groin injury. Danny Welbeck will surely be the striker again while Shinji Kagawa and Ashley Young could start on the wings. Dutch forward Robin van Persie seems to have recovered from his thigh injury and he will probably make an appearance on the bench. Tottenham have also managed to bounce back last weekend with a 3-0 win over Stoke, their only Premier League win of a dreadful month of December which saw them replace manager Andre Villas-Boas with Tim Sherwood. Here are the odds for Wednesday's match at Bet365: Manchester United win - 5/6 Draw - 29/10 Tottenham win - 7/2
