Capital One Cup: Sunderland vs Chelsea preview
Jose Mourinho is determined to win the Capital One Cup for a third time in his career as Chelsea prepare to face Sunderland in the quarter-finals. The Portuguese boss won the competition twice in his first spell in charge of the Blues and now they are just two wins away from the final. The two sides have met earlier this month in the Premier League, also at the Stadium of Light, and Chelsea won 4-3 with Eden Hazard bagging two goals. It was the sixth consecutive win against the Black Cats for Chelsea. Last Saturday Chelsea squeezed past Crystal Palace 2-1, a hard-fought win which keeps them just two points behind league leaders Arsenal. Chelsea will miss defender Branislav Ivanovic who is suspended after picking up his fifth booking of the season against Palace, so Cesar Azpilicueta will play right-back. Mark Schwarzer is also likely to start between the sticks, while Frank Lampard, Demba Ba and John-Obi Mikel will probably be handed a spot in the starting line up. If the match ends all square it will go to penalties but Mourinho said he won't prepare for that eventuality: "I practice a lot and we always lose on penalties. This time we don't practice." Sunderland are bottom of the Premier League with just nine points after they were held to a goalless draw at West Ham on Saturday. But manager Gus Poyet will be looking for a morale-boosting victory over Chelsea. Jack Colback is in doubt after he missed out at the weekend due to illness while defender Carlos Cuellar (hip) and goalkeeper Keiren Westwood (shoulder) could be out of the team once again. Here are the odds for Tuesday's match at Bet365: Sunderland win - 11/2 Draw - 7/2 Chelsea win - 8/15
