Sportech’s Acquisition of Data Tote Approved

The Office of Fair Trading approved Sportech plc's acquisition of Data Tote Limited, European online greyhound and horse race betting service provider. The deal was made in September and the Office of Fair Trading sought details in November. Sportech made a statement indicating that the acquisition further secures Sportech's global position as a top operator and provider of betting technologies and services. "Data Tote brings an incremental customer base with strong year-on-year revenue growth that will broaden Sportech's share of the European betting market," a spokesman said.
