Tottenham: Andre Villas-Boas confident of board support
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas says he still has the full support of his board and players. The Spurs were demolished 6-0 by Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, the result dropped them to ninth in the table, eight points behind leaders Arsenal. Villas-Boas said: "I have the confidence of the board and players and I have to move on to do a proper job." The Tottenham boss spent almost £110m in the summer as Gareth Bale moved to Real Madrid for a world-record fee of £85.3m. The defeat at Manchester City is the club's heaviest loss since 1996. "The only conversation the board and I had recently was two or three days ago," Villas-Boas added. "The board is of the same opinion that everything went wrong and we hope to get some response in the future. It was an ordinary meeting. We only spoke very briefly about the game. I am immune to criticism right now. I used to read a lot into situations like this, into pressure points when I was at Chelsea, but not any more. I am very indifferent." Bet365 are offering the possibility to bet on whether Villas-Boas will be sacked or not this season. Villas-Boas is 5/6 to last the season at Tottenham and also 5/6 to get sacked before the end of the campaign.
