Primera Liga: Carlo Ancelotti delighted with Gareth Bale
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti declared himself pleased with Gareth Bale's performance after the "Welsh Wizard" scored twice in his first home start for his new club. Bale also set up another two goals, scored by Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, in a spectacular 7-3 league win over Sevilla at the Bernabeu on Wednesday. The former Tottenham star also played his first full 90 minutes for the Spanish giants since sealing his world-record transfer move in August. Ancelotti said: "Everyone saw the real Gareth. He showed fantastic skills." Bale was hampered by foot and thigh injuries since joining Real but his display against Sevilla finally demonstrated why he was such an expensive signing for Madrid. There was some criticism after his rather poor display in Real's 2-1 defeat by Barcelona last week. "It takes time to adapt but it was a necessity," added Ancelotti. "Now he doesn't have problems physically and he is improving his confidence, so he will be very important for us in the future." Bale's goals came in the first 27 minutes of the match and he also provided two assists as Ronaldo scored a hat-trick while Benzema bagged Real's other two goals. "I showed what I was capable of," said Bale. "It was a crazy game to be involved in but the most important thing for us is to get the three points." After bagging this brace Bale is 11/8 at Bet365 to score in Saturday's league match at Rayo Vallecano, while Cristiano Ronaldo is 4/11 to get on the score sheet in that match.
