Premier League: Torres late strike punishes Manchester City
Spanish striker Fernando Torres took full advantage of a last-minute mix-up in Manchester City's defence to give Chelsea the three points at Stamford Bridge. Sergio Aguero had made it all square with a stunning strike but a misunderstanding between goalkeeper Joe Hart and defender Matija Nastasic gave Torres the golden opportunity to seal the three points. Nastasic appeared ready to clear Willian's long ball but Hart rushed from his goal line and the defender headed past his own keeper and Torres was quick enough to push the ball home. Torres also played a part in the first goal as he set things up for Andre Schurrle before half time. Torres was also guilty of a terrible miss when he shot well over the bar with only the goalkeeper to beat. Chelsea took the lead after 33 minutes when Torres raced past Gael Clichy with before setting up Schurrle's simple finish. The Spanish striker nearly added a great second goal, beating Demichelis to send in an angled effort which went past Joe Hart but struck the angle of post and bar. Aguero tried to react for City before the break but his powerful shot was blocked at the near post. The Argentine ace struck after half time when he beat the offside trap before delivering a sensational finish to beat Petr Cech. City had a chance to take the lead but Garcia headed straight at the keeper before Cech denied David Silva's low effort. Both teams were looking for the fatal blow but things seemed to be heading towards a draw when Torres struck home the winner. Chelsea have another big challenge coming up as they face high-flying Arsenal in the League Cup on Tuesday, here are the odds for that derby at Sky Bet: Arsenal win - 6/4 Draw - 12/5 Chelsea win - 8/5
