Champions League: Manchester United vs Real Sociedad preview
Premier League champions Manchester United will be determined to ease the ever growing pressure on manager David Moyes when they face Real Sociedad at Old Trafford on Wednesday. The Red Devils have won just two of their last six matches in all competitions and have made their worst start to a league season since 1989. However, despite the shaky start to the season, United have recorded good results in the Champions League, starting with a 4-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen before a 1-1 draw at Shakhtar Donetsk. United have lost their last two home matches against Spanish sides, to Real Madrid last season and to Athletic Bilbao in the 2011-12 Europa League. Tom Cleverley and Rio Ferdinand missed Saturday's draw against Southampton and are doubtful for Wednesday's Champions League clash. Real Sociedad managed to grab a league win on Saturday, 2-1 at Valencia to end a terrible winless run of eight matches in all competitions. Sociedad's best player, French winger Antoine Griezmann, hopes last weekend's result will boost their chances to achieve an Old Trafford upset. "We're not going to Manchester merely as tourists. We are going as a quality side who will be trying to win three points that will help us to continue in the tournament," Griezmann said. "We will analyse what we did well last Saturday and look to repeat that." Real Sociedad have lost both of their Champions League matches, 2-1 at Leverkusen and 2-0 at home with Shakhtar Donetsk. The Spanish side need a victory to stay in with a chance of qualifying. Midfielder Xabi Prieto returned from a thigh injury on Saturday but Esteban Granero will be out for a long time with a knee injury. Here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Manchester United win - 1/2 Draw - 17/5 Real Sociedad win - 13/2
