Michael Dawson is hoping Tottenham Hotspur can steady the ship against Aston Villa after succumbing to a clear home defeat at the hands of West Ham United. Spurs were beaten 3-0 by the Hammers before the international break, a result that ruined their good start to the season.
Tottenham next face Aston Villa away from home and Dawson is expecting a response from the team. "The first three days when I woke up my first thought was 'how did we lose that game?'" Dawson said. "We were all gutted. It was never a 3-0 game. Defensively, it was massive disappointment. Now we have to put it right. When you are winning, everything takes care of itself."
"But you have to earn the right to win. You can't just walk out there and do it", added the Tottenham captain. "We will now look to go out and win against Villa. A loss like West Ham is always in the back of your mind but you have to move on. In football, you get the chance to do it."
