Champions League: Arsenal grab hard-fought win at Marseille
Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey continued his sensational early-season form to help earn Arsenal a record 10th successive away win as they squeezed past Marseille in the Champions League. Ramsey's scored six minutes from time to settle the contest when he fired in from 16 yards for his sixth goal in seven games. Theo Walcott had given Arsenal the lead midway through the second half with a powerful volley from inside the penalty area. Jordan Ayew clawed one back for Marseille in stoppage time but it was too late to make any difference. Arsenal picked up their sixth successive win since losing on the opening day of the Premier League to Aston Villa but it wasn't easy. Gibbs cleared the ball off the line before a mistake from Jeremy Morel in the opposite penalty area handed Walcott the chance to score the opening goal. Italian side Napoli won 2-1 against Dortmund in the other match of the group. Walcott had the best chance for Arsenal before the interval but his shot was straight at the goalkeeper. Marseille were the better team in the first half though as Mathieu Valbuena went close to scoring on two occasions. Rod Fanni had an even better chance after the break but he fired just wide while Dimitri Payet was denied by Wojciech Szczesny. Gibbs was denied by Mandanda at the other end before rescuing a ball off the line following a huge mistake by Mertesacker. Arsenal capitalised on a similar mistake by Morel and then Ramsey wrapped things up. Arsenal can extend their winning streak when they meet Stoke in the Premier League on Sunday, here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Arsenal win - 4/11 Draw - 4/1 Stoke win - 15/2
