Nine people, led by Ylli Gjeli, are being charged with several federal charges including RICO activity, loan sharking and running an illegal online sports betting operation via websites such as 247fantasysports.com and YourBetsOnline.com.
The indictment includes Gjeli, Fatmir Mustafaraj, George Markakis, Erion Murataj, Gezim Asllani, Rezart Rahmi Telushi, Eneo Jahaj, Brian Jackson and Ardit Pone and gives a detailed account of their illegal acts.
Allegedly occurring in Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the District of New Jersey, and other locations, the charges are based on loan sharking, extortion, illegal gambling, the collection of unlawful debts, violence and covering up the operations from law enforcement.
The FBI, the IRS, Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations were on the case when the bust went down in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
