Premier League: Liverpool sign Aly Cissokho on loan
Liverpool have completed a deal to bring 25-year-old defender Aly Cissokho onloan from Valencia until the end of the season. The France international is Liverpool's fifth signing of the summer. He will compete with Spaniard Jose Enrique for a place in the starting eleven at left-back. "I think we have a great team and great fans and together we can achieve big things," said Cissokho. The left back made 25 league appearances and scored two goals for Valencia last season after signing from Lyon for around 5 million pounds in August 2012. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers was determined to sign another left-back as cover for Jose Enrique and nearly managed to bring in Guilherme Siqueira from Spanish club Granada, but the clubs failed to agree a fee. Cissokho joins goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, defender Kolo Toure, midfielder Luis Alberto and striker Iago Aspas on the list of Liverpool summer transfers. The Reds have not completed all the signings that they wanted though and they are chasing one more attacking player before the end of the transfer window. They were hoping to grab Anzhi Makhachkala forward Willian but the Brazilian is close to completing a move to Tottenham. Liverpool face Aston Villa in the next Premier League match, Saturday August 24, here are the odds at Bet365: Aston Villa win - 3/1 Draw - 11/4 Liverpool win - 5/6
