Premier League: Everton reject Manchester United bids for Baines and Fellaini
Everton have turned down a £28m joint offer from Manchester United for Belgium midfielder Marouane Fellaini and England defender Leighton Baines. Former Everton boss David Moyes offered £16m for Fellaini, whose £23.5m contract release clause expired at the end of July. United also had a £12m bid for left-back Baines rejected in June but have decided to come back with the same offer. Both players featured in Everton's starting line up for the 2-2 draw with Norwich on Saturday. United's offer for Fellaini has caused quite a bit of frustration at Everton as Moyes was their manager when the expired release clause was inserted into the 25-year-old's contract. Everton's new boss Roberto Martinez was justly delighted when the Fellaini contract deadline had passed so it's highly unlikely he would accept an offer below that mark. United have not yet indicated whether they will return with improved offers, but Everton don't seem very willing to sell, especially to United. David Moyes was the one who has brought both players to Everton, signing Baines from Wigan for £6m in August 2007 and Fellaini for a club record £15m from Standard Liege in September 2008. Fellaini is also on Arsenal's shopping list while other clubs could well jump in at a certain point. Here are the odds at SkyBet for a Fellaini transfer before September 3rd: Manchester United - 2/5 Arsenal - 8/1 Tottenham - 20/1 Chelsea - 28/1 AC Milan - 50/1
