Tennis: Andy Murray eases past Youzhny in Cincinnati
Andy Murray seemed determined to make amends after last week's early exit in Montreal as he produced a dominant display against Russian Mikhail Youzhny in the second round of the Cincinnati Open. Murray lost to Ernests Gulbis five days ago but now his game seemed back on track as he dispatched Youzhny 6-2 6-3. Murray will play Frenchman Julien Benneteau in the last 16. Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Tomas Berdych also all won. Murray is looking to get as many matches as possible under his belt ahead of his US Open title defence, with the final Grand Slam of the year starting on 26 August. He had a great start against Youzhny, cruising to a 4-0 lead before serving out the set. Then he got two more breaks at the start of the second set and although Youzhny managed to fight back at 4-3 Murray delivered another break to wrap things up in one hour and 10 minutes. "I prefer the conditions here," said Murray. "It's actually quite cool today, but the court suits my game a little bit more here so I felt a bit more comfortable, I moved pretty well. It was an important match for me to get through. Obviously I want to try and get as many matches as possible this week before the US Open. I only got a couple last week so I was a little bit nervous before the start of the match because it was important to get through this one. I didn't make too many mistakes, I just tried to play a solid match and find a way to win today." World number one Djokovic defeated Juan Monaco 7-5 6-2, while Tommy Haas beat Marcel Granollers 6-4 6-1 to set up an interesting clash with Roger Federer. Seventh seed Juan Martin del Potro beat Nikolay Davydenko 7-5 7-5 while French Open champion Nadal beat Germany's Benjamin Becker 6-2 6-2. Here are the outright tournament winner odds at Bet365: Novak Djokovic - 6/5 Andy Murray - 10/3 Rafael Nadal - 7/2 Juan Martin Del Potro - 15/2 Roger Federer - 8/1
