Premier League: Crystal Palace sign Marouane Chamakh
Crystal Palace have secured the signing of Morocco international striker Marouane Chamakh on a one-year deal. The 29-year-old striker will wear the number 29 shirt this season. He was signed by Arsenal in 2010 on a free transfer from Bordeaux and managed to score 11 times in his first season with the Gunners. The next two seasons were disastrous though as he managed to score just three goals in the two years. Chamakh was loaned out to West Ham in January but only managed to play three times. He is the third striker Palace have signed this summer after the arrivals of Kevin Phillips on a free transfer and Dwight Gayle from Peterborough. Phillips, aged 40, has scored 92 Premier League goals in a career that saw him play for Sunderland, Southampton, Aston Villa, West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City. Dwight Gayle is a 22-year old youngster that managed to bag 13 times in 29 games last seasons for Peterborough. Ian Holloway's team face a tough start to their Premier League campaign as they face Tottenham at home on Sunday. Here are the odds for that match at Bet365: Crystal Palace win - 7/2 Draw - 14/5 Tottenham win - 3/4
