Premier League: Tottenham confident of signing Roberto Soldado
Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing 28-year-old Valencia striker Roberto Soldado and they are working hard to push the transfer through before any competitors step in. The two clubs are currently negotiating the transfer and Spurs are confident of completing the deal before too long. Soldado was one of the most prolific attackers in the Spanish top flight last season, scoring 30 goals in 46 appearances. He has also helped Spain reach the final of the Confederations Cup last month, scoring in the group win over Uruguay, but he didn't get to play in the final, lost by Spain 3-0 to host nation Brazil. If completed, Soldado's transfer would be the third of the summer for Tottenham as manager Andre Villas-Boas has already signed Brazilian international midfielder Paulinho from Corinthians and winger Nacer Chadli from FC Twente. Soldado's potential transfer will have no influence on Gareth Bale's future, who has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer. Tottenham are in desperate need of a striker ans they have previously shown a great deal of interest in Belgian striker Christian Benteke before he decided to sign a new contract with Aston Villa. Soldado is also being chased by Liverpool, in case they part company with Luis Suarez, while Arsenal also seem interested in the Spanish forward. Here are the odds at SkyBet for a Roberto Soldado transfer before September 3rd: Tottenham - 10/1 Liverpool - 10/1 Arsenal - 20/1 Atletico Madrid - 20/1 Manchester City - 20/1
