UK Betting Companies Join Forces on Fight Against Problem Gambling

A report arrived over the weekend that 20 leading UK betting companies decided to partner in exploring ways in fighting problem gambling and minimizing its harmful effects. The names on the list of companies include Rank Group, Gala Coral, Paddy Power, Sky Bet, William Hill, Aspers Casinos and Ladbrokes, and they now form part of the P3 Group social responsibility organization. The goal of P3Group is to provide greater transparency and clarity of gambling offers, as well as improve the identification of people who are prone to risky, problematic gambling. According to P3 chairman, Russell Hoyle, "The industry needs to act proactively to minimise the risk of harm from gambling. The vast majority of people who gamble do so safely. However, we recognise that there is a small minority for whom gambling can be harmful. "The P3 Group believes that the best way to understand and tackle this is through a cohesive, cross-industry approach."
