Premier League: Manchester United still push for Fabregas transfer
Manchester United have not given up on signing Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, despite having two bids rejected. The latest bid was around £30m plus add-ons. New Red Devils manager David Moyes has confirmed he is still targeting the 26-year-old Spanish midfielder as his first capture since taking over at Old Trafford. Moyes said during a news conference that "things are ongoing". United made their first move for Fabregas on 15 July by submitting an official £15m bid and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward then flew home from the club's Asia tour to try and push the transfer through. But Barcelona don't seem willing to give up on Spain international. Moyes also revealed that Robin van Persie has recovered from a thigh injury just in time to play in United's next tour match against Cerezo Osaka on Friday. Wayne Rooney, who returned early from the club's tour with a hamstring injury, is also recovering. The English striker is training in Manchester alongside Nemanja Vidic and Nani, both injured too, and Antonio Valencia, who was given time off after international games. Moyes added: "There was a practice match at Carrington the other day. Vida, Nani and Valencia all had playing time in that. Wayne is also running and at the level we thought he'd be at. He'll step that up this week." Here are the odds for United's friendly on Friday at Bet365: Cerezo Osaka to win - 5/1 Draw - 15/4 Manchester United to win - 2/5
