Tabcorp Acquires Tab Active

The latest acquisition drive by the major Australian bookmaker TabCorp Holdings saw the Tab Active interactive television wagering service taken over from Donaco International Limited for a total consideration of A$ 863,000. The service which links into the betting engines of TabCorp, TattsBet and Racing and Wagering Western Australia, enables its account holders in the states of New South Wales, Western Australia, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia to access information and place bets. It has been specified by a TabCorp spokesman that no significant changes will be introduced following the acquisition, and that the company will continue to operate as usual. On the other side, Donaco International noted: “Tab Active was the first television-based wagering service available in Australia and the most sophisticated of its kind in the world. The service is linked to the three Sky Racing channels available on the Foxtel platform. It provides a comprehensive form guide and racing information to all Foxtel viewers, at no charge.”
