Premier League: Everton rejected Manchester United offer for Leighton Baines
Manchester United have offered a £12m bid to Everton for England defender Leighton Baines but it was rejected by the Toffees. New Manchester United manager David Moyes has made Baines one of his priorities for the summer transfer window after moving from Goodison Park to Old Trafford. The initial rejection won't stop Moyes as he apparently is preparing an improved offer for the left back. However, Everton have stated that Baines is not for sale at any price. New Everton manager Roberto Martinez made it clear he would like Baines to sign a new contract with the Toffees. Manchester United have Patrice Evra as the first choice left back at the moment, but the French international is 32 years old and Moyes is looking to bring some fresh blood on that flank. Baines has recently spoken about how much he is relishing working with new boss Roberto Martinez. Baines said: "We've chatted on the phone. It was just about speaking about the start of the season and looking forward to working with each other. Anyone you speak to only says great things about him." There are other clubs interested in his signature as well, so we might see further developments on this story. You can bet on a Leighton Baines transfer at SkyBet, here are the odds for a move before September 3rd: Manchester United - 1/3 Tottenham - 20/1 Chelsea - 25/1 Manchester City - 25/1 Arsenal - 28/1
