Transfer News: Edinson Cavani rejects Premier League move
Napoli striker Edinson Cavani is determined to reject a move to the Premier League as he prefers a move to Spanish football, to Real Madrid, the player's father has revealed. The 26-year-old Uruguay forward would replace Gonzalo Higuain in case of a move to Real Madrid. Premier League title contenders Chelsea and Manchester City are also believed to be prepared to make a move for Cavani, who bagged no less than 36 goals last season. "Cavani's intention is to play for Madrid," Luis Cavani, the player's father, said. "He is excited about it and is very willing to see it through. He has told the family in private that he wants to join Real Madrid but if he declares it publicly it will annoy Napoli." Luis Cavani added that representatives from Madrid had already contacted his son but he is worried that Napoli might demand a transfer fee that would be too big for any potential contenders. "There has been contact with Real Madrid's lawyers and now we are waiting for the two clubs to meet," he said. "I hope it happens and that talks take place as soon as possible. Who wouldn't want to play for Real Madrid? It's not just up to Edi. They are talking about 65million euros and Napoli won't negotiate for any less." Cavani is one of the most important transfer targets of the summer and you can bet on his next club at SkyBet, here are the odds for a move before September 1st: Chelsea - 4/5 Real Madrid - 2/1 Manchester City - 3/1 Bayern Munich - 33/1 PSG - 33/1
