Premier League: Manchester City complete Jesus Navas transfer
Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Spanish winger Jesus Navas from Sevilla on a four-year deal, with the deal worth around 15 million pounds. "Manchester City is an exciting project and this is the right moment for me to take this step," Navas said after passing the medical. Navas has spent his entire career at Sevilla, which is 20 miles north of his hometown of Los Palacios y Villafranca. He turned down a move to Chelsea in 2006, saying he was afraid of living abroad. "I'm very happy with the opportunity and the decision," he added. Navas is City's second major signing of the summer following Fernandinho's arrival from Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee of around 30 million pounds. Jesus Navas was a member of Spain's successful 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012 squads and is in the 23-man squad picked for the eight-nation Confederations Cup, which starts on 15 June. "The Premier League is a competition where the football is very fast and will suit the way I play. I'm really looking forward to it," Navas said. "I'm going to a great club in England and I want to continue developing my game there. The club has put a lot of faith in me and I want to repay them out on the pitch." City still have to solve the manager's problem though as they still haven't appointed a successor to Roberto Mancini, but Manuel Pellegrini from Malaga is the main favourite for the job. Manchester City are reportedly preparing a move for Everton left back Leighton Baines, but they face some competition from other top clubs. Here are the odds for a Leighton Baines move this summer at SkyBet: Manchester United- 8/11 Tottenham - 10/1 Chelsea - 16/1 Manchester City - 16/1 Arsenal - 20/1
