PMU Enters Co-Mingling Deal with Webis Subsidiary
This week, San Francisco-based WatchandWager, a subsidiary of the Webis group of sports betting, pool wagering and Californian harness racing operations, announced that it has inked a direct co-mingling contract with Pari Mutuel Urbain for wagering on French horseracing. Thanks to the deal, WatchandWager's US based customers will be able to bet directly into the PMU racetrack pools every day, and the company will also use French horseracing data and video streaming on its site from mid-June. The new French PMU content joins the growing list of thoroughbred and harness racing content available to WatchandWager users, who can now wager on racetracks in the key Tote territories: Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Sweden, Australia, Japan and New Zealand. And since not many other advanced deposit wagering companies in the US currently offer the ability to bet on French content, WatchandWager will promote its ability to make such an offer to its US customer base, at the same time seeking to provide a 24/7 international horseracing product to its client base. According to Ed Comins, Pari-Mutuel Operations Director of Webis, "The French have a heavy emphasis on compliance and wagering integrity, and to be granted the PMU rights demonstrates our commitment to these areas. We look forward to promoting French racing in our core market through the summer and in the run up to the prestigious Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe meeting in early October."
