Vijay Singh Files Lawsuit Against PGA Tour
Vijay Singh has filed a lawsuit against the PGA Tour on Wednesday for what he refers to as "public humiliation and ridicule" caused by a 12-week investigation into his use of deer-antler spray. It turned out that the substance is not prohibited and the tour dropped the case and Singh withdrew the following day. The lawsuit has taken the tour by surprise as it comes a day before The Players Championship. This is the event on the PGA Tour where Singh holds three major championships. "I am proud of my achievement, my work ethic and the way I live my life," Singh said in a statement. "The PGA Tour not only treated me unfairly, but displayed a lack of professionalism that should concern every professional golfer and fan of the game." With the PGA Tour's office and Singh's home in New York, he opted to file there on Wednesday. He is scheduled to be in the field at The Players Championship starting alongside Robert Garrigus and J.J. Henry at 2pm ET on Thursday. "We have not seen the lawsuit, just the statement," PGA Tour spokesman Ty Votaw said. "We have no comment."
