Update: Ladbrokes Digital Marketing Services Opened in Tel Aviv
Ladbrokes Israel has been officially opened Wednesday as a new digital marketing services operation of the UK bookmaker Ladbrokes as the company attempts to enhance its digital presence. Operations of the Ladbrokes Israel have been commenced as a part of the new deal with Playtech signed on March 11, 2013. Based in Tel Aviv, the venture is wholly owned, e-commerce and digital marketing services operation. Its subsequent integration with existing teams in London and Gibraltar has been announced as the next step. The operations will be supported by strong marketing team, with a confirmed track record of running digital revenues, specifically using Playtech software. Interestingly, Jim Mullen will be joining the team as Director, Digital in November 2013. He comes from an integral position as COO of William Hill Online, the joint venture between William Hill and Playtech that recently dissolved after William Hill accepted its option to buy-out Playtech's share in the business. In the meantime, Nick Rust, Director Channels, will be fully responsible for realization of the 2013 plans for both the digital business and UK and Ireland retail. Rust will also work hand in hand with Human Resources so as to implement the necessary reorganization activities in order to ensure maximum benefits of the new operating deal with Playtech. After Mullen comes aboard, Nick Rust will remain in charge of the UK and Ireland retail business and will accept additional responsibilities within the Group's central services. Richard Glynn, Chief Executive of Ladbrokes, commented on digital operations and Mullen's appointment: "Today marks a significant step in our positioning of Ladbrokes as a major player in the rapidly evolving digital market. The appointment of Jim Mullen allied to the start of Ladbrokes Israel means we have strong foundations in place to accelerate our growth in this important area." “He brings a wealth of hands on experience, having worked with Playtech for the last three years. He will join at an exciting time and we look forward to him helping us make the Ladbrokes brand as strong in the digital arena as we are on the High Street," Glynn stated.
