Oklahoma Scores Well at NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championship
On Saturday evening, the Oklahoma men's gymnastics team came in second at the NCAA championships. This final went tit for tat between the Sooners and Michigan. OU managed to post a score of 440.100 coming in just under the Wolverines' 443.200. “I thought this was a fantastic night for us,” OU coach Mark Williams said. “We hit 100 percent, stuck a lot of dismounts, exceeded all the expectations I've ever had for this team. This is the most excited I have ever been to be second, so I'm thrilled. We have been second six times in the last fourteen years, so these guys have been amazing.” OU's Michael Squares performed very well on the rings securing the meet-high 15.800. Alec Robin scored a 15.400 on vault and Michael Reid scored 15.150 on pommel horse. Sam Mikulak of Michigan took the all-around title and all individual event champions will be awarded on Sunday.
