Champions League: Malaga hold Dortmund to goalless draw
German champions Borussia Dortmund wasted a bunch of chances as they were held to a goalless draw at Malaga in their Champions League quarter-final first leg. Mario Gotze was the most wasteful of the German players as he was twice denied by goalkeeper Willy Caballero after racing clean through of the defenders. Robert Lewandowski, a striker known for his composure in front of goal, also squandered a huge chance early in the second half. The home side had only a pair of chances through Weligton and Isco. Malaga's defence was surpassed quite clearly and easily early on when Lewandowski flicked on for Gotze who raced clear of the opponents only to fire a weak shot that was easily held by Willy. Gotze then fired a shot into the goalkeeper's body after a good assist from Ilkay Gundogan before Marco Reus also produced a poor finish to wrap up a good move. Malaga only managed to come close at the end of the first half when a corner kick header from Weligton was neatly saved. Dortmund were more dominant in the second half but they failed to capitalise on their superiority as Lewandowski and Gotze fired wide from good positions. Malaga replied through Isco and Toulalan, who saw their efforts saved by goalkeeper Weidenfeller. The result leaves the tie pretty much in the balance, with both sides still in with a good chance to qualify. The second leg will be played next week, on April 9th, here are the odds for the match at Bet365: Dortmund win - 4/9 Draw - 10/3 Malaga win - 6/1
