Champions League: PSG score late equaliser against Barcelona
Former Barcelona forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored one goal and set up the other as he led Paris St-Germain in an entertaining Champions League quarter-final first leg match. The Swede scored the first equaliser from an apparent offside position to cancel out Lionel Messi's beautiful opener. Xavi put Barcelona ahead again in the 89th minute as he converted a penalty after Salvatore Sirigu fouled Alexis Sanchez but Ibrahimovic's 94th-minute knock-down was delivered home by Blaise Matuidi. It was a rough night for Barcelona as they have lost Messi to a hamstring strain at half-time and Javier Mascherano to another injury in the second half. Barcelona displayed their usual dominant style during the early stages of the match but looked vulnerable in defence and almost conceded from PSG's first attack as Sergio Busquets, under pressure from Lavezzi, poked the ball against the frame of his own goal. Barcelona were limited to efforts from distance with Andres Iniesta and Alexis Sanchez trying their luck but they did much better on 38 minutes when a superb pass from Dani Alves found Messi clear inside the penalty area and the Argentine forward blasted it home to take his season tally to 57 goals. Messi then created a chance for himself thanks to his dribbling but his great shot from the edge of the penalty area went just over. Messi hobbled out of the action with a right hamstring strain and was replaced by Cesc Fabregas. Barcelona could have increased their lead after the break but Sanchez squandered two chances before Ibrahimovic made it all square after Thiago Silva's header bounced off the post. The visitors took the lead again with a minute of normal time left, when Xavi coolly converted from the penalty spot after Sanchez had been felled by Sirigu. But Ibrahimovic didn't give up and he provided the chance for the equaliser deep into stoppage time as he nodded the ball into the path of Matuidi whose shot squirmed past Victor Valdes. The two sides will meet again next week in Barcelona, with the Spanish giants as favourites for qualification. Here are the "to qualify" odds at Bet365: PSG to qualify - 5/1 Barcelona to qualify - 1/8
