$440k in Jewelry Stolen from Giants Player Shaun Rogers
New York Giants defensive tackle Shaun Rogers was reportedly robbed of $440,000 worth of jewelry during a hotel stay in Miami Beach. While staying at the Fontainebleau Hotel on Monday, someone accessed his safe and took the jewelry. Rogers, 34, says that he met a woman while at along with two other friends. They headed back to his room at 7 a.m. He claims that his jewelry was in the safe and when he awoke, the woman was gone and so were the contents of the safe. Apparently Rogers was unable to open up the safe and sought hotel security for assistance. He discovered that his items were missing. Among them were $100,000 diamond earrings, a $100,000 watch, a $60,000 watch, a $50,000 gold necklace, a $70,000 diamond Cuban necklace and three gold bracelets worth a combined $60,000. Rogers will be approaching his 13th year with the NFL. Last season he was not able to play due to a blood clot; however he has signed on for another year with the Giants. The new one year contract gives Rogers just over $1 million and includes a signing bonus of $20,000. Prior to joining the Giants in 2012, Rogers played for the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions.
