Italian Online Exchange Betting Possible?
Is the Italian regulator AAMS going to permit online betting exchange action in the dedicated market? This option seems like a relevant possibility now when Italian finance minister Vittorio Grilli has indicated he has no problem with the concept by signing a ministerial decree regulating P2P or exchange betting. The decree will be applied by the AAMS following a Court of Auditors process, SOGEI financial testing requirements and publication in the official government gazette. Furthermore, it has been reported that the betting exchange action, which will only be available in Italy, could be introduced before the end of 2013. It is believed the British betting exchange pioneer Betfair will one of the early applicants, with company exec Martin Cruddace cited as saying: "There are still many steps to be completed, but the Italian customers can now look forward to access to an important betting product."
